Getting started

Open the Today tab to see the next workout in the guided plan. Review the exercises, choose the workout, and use each exercise card to work through its sets in order.

Logging a set

Tap Complete Set after finishing a set. If Quick Log is enabled, enter the weight and reps, optionally record effort and form feedback, then tap Save Set. Choose Skip Logging to keep the completed set without saving weight and rep details.

Undoing or resetting progress

Use Undo Set to reverse the most recent set, Reset Exercise to clear today’s sets for one exercise, or Reset Today to clear the current workout. Workouts with some completed sets may appear as partial workouts. Reset or undone workouts with no completed sets should not appear in Progress.

Rest timer and Live Activities

When enabled, the rest timer starts after a completed set and can send local reminders when rest is almost over or complete. A Rest Timer Live Activity can also appear on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, in the Dynamic Island.

If reminders or the Live Activity do not appear, check FirstSet’s notification and Live Activity permissions in iOS Settings and confirm the corresponding options are enabled in FirstSet Settings.

Progress and calories

Progress includes daily and date-range views for workouts, sets, training volume, improvements, and trends. Active, resting, and total calorie information appears only when you choose to connect Apple Health and matching Health data is available for the selected range.

Apple Health troubleshooting

Connect Apple Health once from Progress and allow access to the calorie categories you want to share. FirstSet refreshes automatically after that first request. You can manage permissions later in the Health app or iOS Settings.

For privacy, HealthKit may return no data without telling an app whether read access was denied. If calories remain empty, confirm that Apple Health contains active or resting energy data for the selected dates. Apple Health is optional and is not required for core workout tracking.

iCloud sync

Sync requires an iCloud account and an iCloud-enabled production build of FirstSet. Eligible workout data syncs through your private iCloud account when the service is available. Sync can take time, so leave the app connected and allow changes to finish uploading before checking another device. When appropriate, workout data remains usable locally while iCloud is unavailable.

Exercise videos

Form videos open outside FirstSet on YouTube or another provider’s website or app. Video availability, playback, and privacy practices are controlled by that provider.
