How to play
Turn the start word into the goal word by changing one letter at a time. Every step must be a real word, and each new word must change exactly one letter from the previous word.
Example: COLD → CORD → CARD → WARD → WARM

What is the goal of Ladderly?
Reach the goal word from the start word by making valid one-letter word changes.
Why was my word rejected?
Your word may not be in Ladderly's dictionary, may not be the required length, or may change more than one letter from your current word.
Why is a word accepted as a guess but not used in hints?
Hints may use a smaller curated path so they stay useful and avoid unusual words, while guesses can allow a broader valid-word list.
How do hints work?
The first hint may be free. Extra hints may require watching an ad, depending on your purchase status.
How does the daily puzzle work?
Each day has one daily ladder. Complete it to record your result, update your streak, and add the puzzle to your daily history.
What happens if I quit during today's puzzle?
Your current daily puzzle progress may be saved locally on your device so you can come back and continue.
How do I restore purchases?
Open Ladderly, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Where is my progress saved?
Gameplay progress, streaks, stats, and history are stored locally on your device. If you delete Ladderly, local progress may be removed. Ladderly Plus purchases can be restored through the App Store.
Why am I seeing ads?
Ladderly may show ads when you request extra hints, and occasional ads may appear after practice rounds. Ads are not shown during active puzzle solving.

Purchases and restore purchases
Ladderly Plus is an optional one-time purchase that removes ads and unlocks unlimited hints. Purchases and restoration are handled through Apple's App Store purchase system.
Troubleshooting
If something is not working, try updating Ladderly, restarting the app, checking your internet connection for ads or purchases, and restarting your device. Daily and practice puzzles can be played offline, but ads and purchase restoration may require a connection.
